Here’s what we know:

  • During the weeks of July 6 & 13, Ms. Geller engages the community in conversations to gather input.


  • On, or around July 15, families will be able to choose if they want their child to remain in Remote Learning on a full-time basis.


  • By July 23, the school will submit a choice of an initial programming model. Parents will be informed as soon as the decision is made.

August 21, 2020

Here’s what we know:

  • PS 166Q has been approved to follow program model 1B
  • The school will be divided into three cohorts (blue, gray and yellow). We expect to let you know your child’s color by the middle of next week!
  • We will host two informational sessions next week. The agenda will be the same for both. If you have time, please feel free to join us. We just ask that you stay patient as we still have many unanswered questions. As we get closer, the links to join will be posted here.​​The meetings will be held on:

July 3, 2020

Here’s what we know:

  • Staff & students will be provided with disposable masks, soap & sanitizer
  • We will be required to follow CDC guidelines including:
    • Maintaining social distance
    • Face coverings to be worn while inside the building
    • School custodial staff will be required to clean touchpoints, such as door knobs and student desks, throughout the day and at night, as well as replenish supplies.


  • Families may register their children for 100% remote instruction. Students do not need to meet any medical thresholds to choose full-time remote learning.


  • The DoE will provide signage and floor markings in order to support the redesign of movement protocols within the building. This will be done to minimize congestion.


  • We will prioritize systems and structures for social-emotional and mental wellness for staff and students.


  • On July 7, the DOE will present us with different options for Programming Models for September


Next steps:

  • By July 15, the DOE will send families a survey to declare whether they want to remain on remote learning. 


  • By July 23, each school will be expected to submit an Initial Programming Model Choice


  • In the coming weeks, Ms. Geller will be hosting optional virtual forums for staff and families to gather input
